VALUE RECOVERY AND RISK MITIGATION ANALYSIS (VRA)

BMA’s proprietary Value Recovery and Risk Mitigation Analysis (VRA)™ provides clients a comprehensive VR and RA analysis (or individual components thereof) which allows clients to review and evaluate a broad spectrum of VR opportunities and RM strategies, leading to optimal solutions for maximizing value and minimizing risk from non-performing real estate assets.

The overall VRA™ process includes several specific steps:
  • Environmental RM Analysis – Collection and analysis of current information regarding environmental conditions and risk management measures taken by the owner to date; exploration and evaluation of options for RM strategies going forward;

  • Real Estate and Natural Resources Enhancement Analysis – Analysis of the real estate market(s), suitability for development, likely end uses (including potential VR enhancements such as installation of renewable energy plants, etc.), and potential opportunities for monetizing ecological credits through the restoration or enhancement of natural resources features; as appropriate, includes developing a real estate information management system using IPMS® to facilitate and enhance the real estate analysis for larger portfolios of properties;

  • Property Divestment Strategy Analysis – Review and analysis of options for divestment, where appropriate using the Brownfield Online Connexion (BOX)™ to present properties for confidential review by qualified developers;

  • Analysis of Factors and Variables Potentially Impacting Outcomes – Overview and analysis of open issues that could impact the outcome of the VR/RM plan;

  • Specific Recommendations – Summary of BMA’s conclusions and specific recommended actions for designing and implementing a complete VR/RM plan.
